* SAC encourages all swimmers to participate in at least two meets per season.
* You do not need to attend all days of a multi-day meet, you can register for only one day.
* Meets on the calendar are divided into three categories: Age Group Open (AGO) meets, which are open to all swimmers; Qualifier meets, which are open to all swimmers, with the required qualifying times; Senior meets, which are open to Gold and Platinum swimmers with the required qualifying times.
* SAC typically attends one senior meet each month. These meets are reserved for Gold and Platinum swimmers only, who have met the required qualifying times.
Suggested things to bring to meets:
- Wear your team suit, team cap and goggles.
- Bring at least 2 towels each day during warmer weather meets but we recommend you bring 1 towel for warm-ups and 1 towel for every event you are swimming that day, during colder weather.
- Sunscreen, hats, and umbrellas.
- Plenty of water and nutritious snacks.
- Canopies or tents. We recommend having walls for your canopy for shade or wind/rain protection.
- Cash for the snack bar and other items.
- Swim parkas, beanie caps and water resistant boots for cooler or wet weather.
- Extra clothing, sweatshirts and pants, flannel pajamas, socks.
- Hand warmers.
- Comfortable chairs.
- Sleeping bags, blankets, tarps, pillows, etc.
- Activities, games, books, to keep your swimmers entertained between events.
When you arrive:
- Some meets require check-in (see individual meet sheet for details). Check-in tables are typically located at the entrance to the pool. Each swimmer must circle their events and initial their name on the check-in sheet.
- SAC encourages everyone to sit together as a team during meets.
- It is the swimmer’s responsibility to know their event and heat number and to be at the starting block on time.
- All swimmers must check in with their coach before each race to discuss strategy, and again after each race for feedback and coaching notes.
